New Year, New Me!
Our dear daughter Alyssa was married to Sagar Aggarwal in New Delhi, India on January 14, 2015. We enjoyed the warm hospitality of our new blended family during our trip to India. We enjoy scrumptious Indian food and learning about the wonderful people of India. We have also enjoyed watching movies which reflect Indian culture. In December, we sent our kids, Julia and Nelson to spend Christmas with Sagar and Alyssa. A week before they were to leave, the airlines could not find Julia's ticket. I was told by three different agencies that her ticket had not been booked even though we paid for it. Normally, I would have panicked. However, I decided to not allow my mind or body to react in stress and worry. I finished shopping for Christmas that afternoon and would make more calls when I got home. As I recounted the turn of events, my ever-positive husband, Kevin remembered a quote of Sonny in the movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (quoted above). Upon arriving home, I calmly made one more phone call giving the airlines Julia's birth date this time and they found her ticket. A happy ending!
It has been scientifically proven that our bodies react the same to perceived stress as to actual stressful situations. Much of the stress we face is created when we let ourselves imagine fear and negative outcomes. Abundant Life is living with a deep sense of faith, hope and love.
